Another thing to note in here is that the fees are calculated according to the registered capital of the head office. So it won’t be on the capital of the Thai office. That means the fees will be significantly higher than what you would expect, so try to take that into consideration.
And as we mentioned earlier, this is mandatory. You do have to pay it if you want to have a business in Thailand. In fact, every company registration in Thailand will be required to deal with this tax. It’s not that much of a nuisance, unless the company has a lot of capital at the main office, as that will translate into a higher tax here.
But you can see why that happens. The Thai representatives want to encourage locals to have their own business. And while foreign investors can come here and invest in whatever they want, the protection for locals that want to create their own business is still amazing and it goes to show that they do get plenty of help in that perspective. That’s what you really need here, and the outcome can indeed be worth it.
