I have not even been married yet let alone be in the position to be divorced but to me I would consider divorce a personal failure on my part but I bet I am alone in this respect, right?  Sure, for a relationship it takes two people to make it work but I am just the kind of person who blames myself even when it is not my fault as maybe I could have tried harder or listened more or done more to make it work.  Divorce in Thailand is commonplace in certain areas as people get married due to circumstances such as the women is pregnant outside of marriage (severely frowned upon in Thailand) or it is a teenage pregnancy (again, severely frowned upon).  But when a divorce in Thailand is decided upon breaking up can still be hard to do for whatever reason. Marriage is a very sacred pact between a man and a woman who love each other dearly and it is considered in the West as a very important ceremony and the union between two married people is very important and should never be broken.  In Thailand those who have a marriage in Thailand can expect no less.  Sure there are stories about sham marriages or about women marrying men for their money but these are the stories you hear about and the ones that you do not hear about, regarding marriage in Thailand are usually from those who are happily and blissfully married.  Marriage in Thailand is still very important religiously also and there is the full Thai wedding ceremony or you can have the more civil ceremony where you are registered at an office.   Please click here For our full (more...)
